Independents angered at Twomey switch

Independent TDs reacted with dismay to the news Dr Liam Twomey had joined Fine Gael, branding the move hypocritical and disrespectful to the people of Wexford.

Central Dublin TD Finian McGrath said he was “annoyed and extremely disappointed” they were losing an independent to a mainstream party.
