Health and safety row threatening Ballymun health services

A row over health and safety is reportedly threatening the availability of vital services at the Ballymun Health Centre in Dublin.

The current edition of Medicine Weekly said the trade union IMPACT was threatening to remove its members from the centre due to concerns about health and safety.

The union has reportedly warned the Government that its members in the Ballymun centre are "angry, frustrated and demoralised" at the conditions in which they are forced to work.

The Medicine Weekly article quoted the Department of Health as saying that it was committed to opening a new centre in Ballymun, but there were outstanding issues surrounding approval of the project which needed to be addressed.
