Construction industry seeks overhaul of planning system
The Construction Industry Federation has called for an overhaul of Ireland’s planning system to make it easier for developers to complete projects.
The federation claimed the current system acted as a “bottleneck” and delayed many developments for up to seven years.
Spokesman Hubert Fitzpatrick said: “What we want is a system that is responsive to the demands of the developer in ensuring that a project comes to fruition at the earliest possible opportunity.”
