Dana seeks presidential nomination from Mayo

It has been confirmed that Dana Rosemary Scallon has asked Mayo County Council to put her forward as a candidate in the upcoming presidential election.

Mayo Fine Gael councillor Paddy McGuinness said that he is calling on his members to support her right to stand, but he dismissed reports that his party have endorsed her as a candidate.
