Police injured after youths ram vehicle
Two police officers were hospitalised today after their vehicle was rammed by a stolen four-wheel-drive.
The officers had been called out to assist colleagues after three young men crashed through fencing into a garden at Portodown Road, Armagh.
The police vehicle was struck from behind by a stolen red Mitsubishi FWD as they drove along Portodown Road.
The officers sustained injuries in the crash, which happened around 2.20am, but they were not believed to be serious.
Police arrested three males aged 14, 16 and 18.
The 16-year-old boy was also taken to hospital after the crash.
The jeep had earlier been stolen in a burglary at house in Spruce Hill.
This was part of an operation being carried out in rural areas over weekend which is aimed at combating traffic offences and detecting ordinary crime.
