FF think-in continues in Cork
The Fianna Fáil parliamentary party is due to continue its two-day think-in in Inchydoney, Co Cork, today.
Guest speakers at today’s session include Dr Mary Redmond, who is due to give an address on volunteering in the community, and Dermot O’Brien of NCB Stockbrokers, who is due to talk about the economy.
Yesterday, delegates were told that greater increases in social welfare payments were needed if those on the margins were to enjoy a fairer standard of living.
The Taoiseach Bertie Ahern also told reporters that helping the less well-off and securing agreement in the North were his main priorities for the coming Dáil term.
