Workers at Tara Mines in Co Meath are to be balloted on new management proposals aimed at resolving a number of outstanding issues in dispute at the company.

Workers at Tara Mines in Co Meath are to be balloted on new management proposals aimed at resolving a number of outstanding issues in dispute at the company.

The ballot is due to get underway next Monday, after union representatives explain the new proposals to the workforce.

The proposals relate to issues including sick pay, pensions, holiday entitlements and the reintroduction of contract work.

Workers at Tara Mines went on strike for two days earlier this summer in protest at management’s failure to address the matters to their satisfaction.
