Tribunal to rule on Burke's cost application
The Planning Tribunal is due to rule today on whether the taxpayer should pick up the €10m legal bill accrued by former Government minister Ray Burke.
Mr Burke wants the State to pay his €10m bill, claiming he cannot afford the sum himself.
However, the Government has argued that he should have to pay his own costs after being found to have hindered and obstructed the tribunal.
The Government has made similar arguments in the cases of 15 others who are seeking around €40m in costs from the tribunal.
