Abbey Theatre set to lay off staff due to funding shortfall

The Abbey Theatre in Dublin is reportedly set to lay-off an unknown number of staff in an effort to avert a financial crisis.

Reports this morning said the funding shortfall had already contributed to the postponement of two shows in the theatre’s programme for its centenary year.
