ICTU expected to ratify new national pay deal
The Irish Congress of Trade Unions is expected to ratify the second phase of the Sustaining Progress agreement when it meets to vote on the deal later today.
Under the agreement, workers would receive a 5.5% pay increase in three instalments over a period of 18 months.
Low-paid workers would also receive an additional 0.5% in the first instalment.
ICTU is expected to approve the agreement by a large majority today as several of the country’s biggest unions, including SIPTU and IMPACT, have already voted in favour of it.
