Pro-Life Campaign welcomes drop in Irish abortions in UK
More than 6,000 Irish women are still travelling to Britain every year to have an abortion, according to figures published by the British Health Department.
However, the survey shows a small reduction in the numbers travelling overseas for the procedure for the second year running, following a decade-long increase.
The Pro-Life Campaign welcomed the news of the drop and said the reduction of 300 is the result of extra resources providing alternatives to termination.
