Rescuers save families trapped in Comeragh Mts

Two families have been rescued from the Comeragh Mountains in Co Waterford.

The Coastguard helicopter and the South East Mountain Rescue team were alerted after one group - including an eight month-old baby - became isolated on a riverbank by floodwaters.

They have now been airlifted to safety. Liam McCabe of the South East Mountain Rescue team says severe weather conditions put the group at risk.
