One man dead, another injured in Monaghan accident

A man in his 20s has been killed in a road accident in Co Monaghan this morning.

Gardaí say the single-vehicle accident happened some time before 6am at Cabra Cross, in Castleblayney.

The victim's body has been taken to Cavan General Hospital.

A passenger in the car, who was also in his 20s, was injured and has been taken to hospital in Drogheda for treatment.

Anyone who may have been in the area at the time is asked to contact gardaí at Castleblayney.
