Dublin Lord Mayor calls for parks overhaul
Dublin's Lord Mayor Michael Conaghan has called for a major overhaul of park management in the capital to combat anti-social behaviour.
“Our city parks are a magnificent resource but it is clear that we need to introduce radical proposals to allow Dublin citizens to fully reclaim the city’s parks,” Cllr Conaghan said.
“Over the last ten or so years small anti-social elements have decimated our local parks.
Cllr Conaghan has called for a range of new measures for the capital's parks, including CCTV.
“I will be tabling these proposals for the Draft Development Plan 2005 – 2011 which is due to come into law in March 2005,” he added.
