Orthopaedic surgery cancelled in Navan hospital

All orthopaedic surgery has been postponed at Our Lady's Hospital in Navan. The move follows a positive case of VRA, an antibiotic-resistant infection.

All orthopaedic admissions and elective orthopaedic surgery has been cancelled since July 29, but the decision has only been made public today.

The North Eastern Health board has said the decision has been taken in the interests of patient safety and services will be restored as soon as possible.
