Taoiseach sends best wishes to Irish Olympians

The Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, has sent his best wishes to all those involved in the Irish team for the forthcoming Olympic Games in Athens.

The opening ceremony for the games takes place in the Greek capital tonight.

In a statement issued today, Mr Ahern said: “I would like to wish all the Irish team - competitors, coaches and officials - all the best for the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens.

"I have no doubt that your dedication and hard work will see you fulfil your expectations.”
