Green Party seeks special fund to tackle literacy problems

The Green Party has called on the Government to establish a special fund to tackle literacy problems in Irish schools.

Reports this morning said a study conducted for the Department of Education had found that more than 30% of primary school pupils in disadvantaged areas had severe literacy problems.
