O'Donoghue announces grant for Mosney

Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism John O’Donoghue has announced a grant of €100,000 for the renovation of Mosney Holiday Centre, in response to calls from the National Community Games.

The centre is used to house the competitors in the national finals of the games.

Up to 500,000 children participate each year.

O'Donoghue said: "I am delighted to announce this grant towards the renovation of accommodation at Mosney Holiday Centre.

“These improvements will provide good quality facilities for hundreds of young people who qualify to participate in the national finals of the Community Games.

“The work is nearing completion and will be available for this year's finals, to be held later this month."
