Firefighters tackle chemical factory blaze

Fire crews were tonight tackling a blaze at a chemicals factory in Co Armagh.

The fire began at the plant in Watson’s Lane in Lurgan at around 7.30pm.

Police have closed the town centre to traffic and have evacuated houses and other buildings in the area.

A police spokesman said this was done as a precautionary measure because of the risk from fumes.
