PSNI releases woman questioned over husband’s death

A Derry woman who was being questioned about the death of her husband earlier this week has been released without charge pending further inquiries.

Forty-two-year-old Ellen Gallagher was being questioned about the death of 49-year-old Patrick Gallagher, whose body was found in a house in the Galliagh estate on Wednesday.

He had suffered a head wound.

The couple had married in the past few weeks.

Mr Gallagher was originally from Burt in Co Donegal, but moved to Derry two years ago.
