Cork couple accused of kidnapping nine-year-old grandson

US police and the FBI have reportedly issued a warrant for the arrest of an Irish couple accused of kidnapping their nine-year-old grandson.

Reports this morning said Tim and Ethel Blake had taken the boy, Dylan Benwell, from his home in Chicago at the weekend and were now looking after him in Cobh, Co Cork.

The couple reportedly said they had acted “out of love” because the youngster had an “awful life” in Chicago.

However, the boy’s mother, Serena, said her parents, the Blakes, had made hurtful allegations against the stepfather and had tricked her into letting Dylan go out alone with them.
