Man held over fatal road accident

Gardaí are continuing to question a man arrested in connection with a fatal road accident in Dublin yesterday.

The two-car collision happened in the Stepaside area in the early hours of yesterday morning.

The driver killed in the crash has been named as 71-year-old Gordon Geary of Orwell Road in Rathgar, Dublin.

Shortly beforehand, in a nearby area, two female pedestrians were injured in a separate "hit and run" incident.

It is believed that the two incidents may be linked.
