Cab driver witness sought in murder hunt

Detectives investigating the murder of a mother-of-four in Belfast have appealed for a taxi driver to come forward.

Police want to question the driver of a white Vauxhall Cavalier taxi who they believe may have picked up 47-year-old Geraldine Kane and two people, including Thomas Graham who they want to question, on the night she was brutally stabbed to death.

The taxi-driver was believed to have picked them up from a pub on the Glen Road a few minutes before 12.30am on Monday, July 19.

The married woman’s body was found in a flat in Cavendish Square where rooms have been let out by a private landlord.

Mrs Kane, from west Belfast, was not seen since she left a house in the Clonard area on Monday to return home to Dermott Hill.

Police want to speak to Mr Graham, 42, also from west Belfast, who is thought to have travelled towards Newry, Co Down in a blue Proton car.

Detectives said one person was dropped off by the taxi in the lower Falls area.

The taxi then drove onto Cavendish Street where the pair got out at around 12.40am.

Police also want to speak to anyone who saw the any of the trio getting out of the taxi.
