Ryanair facing legal action for failing to pay fees
The British Airport Authority is expected to take legal action against Ryanair over its failure to pay €1.5m worth of landing fees at Stansted Airport in London.
The action is expected following the Irish airline’s decision to ignore yesterday’s deadline for payment of the fees.
Ryanair will still be allowed to land at Stansted, but its special discounts of almost 50% could be in danger.
Meanwhile, the airline has announced plans to issue its own legal action against the BAA for allegedly overcharging on fuel levies over a 12-year period.
