Man held over car dealer's death

Detectives in Northern Ireland were today questioning a man about the suspicious death of a car dealer.

A 32-year-old from Newry was arrested today by police investigating the death of 60-year-old Pat Keenan in the border town last month.

Mr Keenan’s body was found at his house in Carnhill Drive on June 26. He had suffered severe head injuries.

Neighbours described Mr Keenan as a quiet and good-natured man and were deeply shocked by the discovery.

Police originally believed he may have died during a burglary and investigated the disappearance of a red Mercedes car from outside his home.

The car was located two days later and was taken away for forensic examination.
