ESAT BT admits overcharging Irish customers

The telecommunications firm ESAT BT has reportedly admitted overcharging its Irish customers by €57,000.

Reports this morning said the company had admitted that it charged 1,900 customers €30 each for a service they no longer received.

The reports said the company only discovered the matter yesterday after being contacted by a national newspaper in response to a complaint from a reader.

ESAT BT reportedly put the matter down to a billing error and said measures were being taken to ensure it didn’t happen again.
