The LUAS light rail system carried 140,000 passengers in its first full week of commercial activity, figures have revealed.

The LUAS light rail system carried 140,000 passengers in its first full week of commercial activity, figures have revealed.

During the tram system’s first five days in service, 430,000 passengers travelled free of charge.

Reacting to the figures, the Rail Procurement Agency said the figures were encouraging and augured well for its success.
