Bus licencing row: Unions will not accept Govt plan
Union spokesman Liam Tobin has said his members will not accept any move by the Government move to licence private operators at the expense of Dublin Bus.
Speaking ahead of today's meeting at the Labour Relations Commission between management and unions, Tobin said: “We would not accept that Dublin Bus would be diminished in size in order to hand over [routes] to private operators,” he said.
Mr Tobin also said it was unlikely an agreement would be reached on the issue.
“Given the history of these talks, it’s hard to be optimistic, but I am hopeful,” he said.
