Five in custody in relation to Newry firearm seizure

Five men remain in police custody in the North today in connection with the seizure of a firearm in Newry, Co Down yesterday.

The gun was found during a PSNI operation in the Water Street area of the city yesterday morning.

The PSNI sealed off an area behind the city’s cathedral during the operation. Two cars were also seized for forensic examination.
