A Bandon man was cleared today on the charge of killing a father-of-four at a pub in the town almost two years ago.

Following more than two days of legal argument - where it was claimed there were too many possible causes for the death for the case to be put to the jury for their consideration - Judge Patrick J Moran directed the jury to return a verdict of not guilty.
