Redmond to begin appeal today
George Redmond is due to begin the process of appealing his corruption conviction later today.
The former Dublin city and county manager was jailed for 12 months last December for receiving a £10,000 bribe from a businessman in relation to the sale of a right-of-way in Lucan in the late 1980s.
His application for leave to appeal the conviction is due to be heard at the Court of Criminal Appeal today.
Mr Redmond’s testimony to the Planning Tribunal has been suspended pending the hearing.
