Greens speak out against Bush visit to Ireland
The Green Party has added its voice to a growing chorus of opposition to US President George W Bush’s visit to Ireland this weekend.
Speaking at a press conference in Dublin today, party leader Trevor Sargeant called on everyone who opposed Mr Bush’s policies to support protests against his visit.
“The actions of George Bush are jeopardising not just this bur future generations and not just their rights to a quality of life, but their rights to life itself,” he said.
“For many reasons, those being just some, it is imperative that Ireland not miss out on this opportunity to express its opinion loudly and clearly to the international community and particularly to George Bush.”
