Stone threatens to name ex-associates

UDA killer Michael Stone has threatened to name two of his former paramilitary associates who he claims are now members of the Northern security forces.

Mr Stone has claimed that the two, a police officer and a British soldier, are trying to blackmail him.

He said yesterday that the pair were claiming to have DNA and other evidence linking him with an alleged plot to murder the Pope more than 20 years ago.

Mr Stone, who killed three mourners in a gun and grenade attack on an IRA funeral in Belfast in 1988, said the claims were ludicrous.
