PSNI officer mowed down in Belfast
A PSNI officer has suffered leg injuries after being knocked down by a car near the Ormeau Road in south Belfast early this morning.
The incident happened while officers were responding to reports of a burglary in Rossmore Park.
The officers were approaching a car in the area when the driver accelerated towards them and ran over one officer’s leg.
The vehicle also struck a police car before speeding off in the direction of the Falls Road.
A second PSNI officer also suffered hip and shoulder injuries yesterday evening when he was struck by a stolen car on the Upper Malone Road in south Belfast.
