Soldiers quizzed over stabbing at base

A soldier was left with serious stomach injuries after being stabbed at a military base in Co Down.

The British army confirmed today that two other soldiers were also questioned by police about the incident.

They belong to the 2nd Battalion Royal Green Jackets.

The stabbing happened at Abercorn Barracks, Ballykinler on May 16. The soldiers were off duty at the time.

An army spokesman said the Royal Military Police were carrying out their own inquiry.
