Policeman hurt in hit-and-run

A police officer in Northern Ireland was seriously hurt in a hit-and-run accident early today.

The officer was mounting a vehicle checkpoint in Crossmaglen in south Armagh when he was struck by a white Peugeot saloon car on the Blayney Road.
