The first Irish woman to climb Mount Everest returns home to Cork today.

The first Irish woman to climb Mount Everest returns home to Cork today.

Thirty-three year old, Doctor Clare O’Leary from Bandon, reached the summit on the May 18.

She was part of the Wyeth Irish Everest Expedition 2004 team, which included Nepali and Irish climbers.

The group, led by veteran mountaineer Pat Falvey, flies into Cork Airport at 10.30am this morning.
