Pharmacists are calling for new measures to retain ownership of chemist practices in Ireland.

The Irish Pharmaceutical Union, which held its AGM in Citywest today, said the Government must take steps to safeguard standards of pharmacies.

Doctor Karl Hilton, incoming president of the IPU, said the legislation is already standard in most EU countries.
