An overwhelming majority of Irish people believe pharmacists should be allowed to prescribe certain medicines, according to a survey commissioned by the Irish Pharmaceutical Union.

An overwhelming majority of Irish people believe pharmacists should be allowed to prescribe certain medicines, according to a survey commissioned by the Irish Pharmaceutical Union.

The IPU said 87% of respondents to the survey agreed that pharmacists should have the power to prescribe medicines for common ailments.
