Death threats victim escapes Belfast gun attack

Loyalists were blamed today for a gun attack near Belfast on the home of a man living under a death threat.

Mark Stubbs, 30, escaped unhurt when the front of his house was sprayed with gunfire.

The living room window was shattered as five bullets hit walls of the property at Best Hill View in Purdysburn Road on the southern outskirts of the city.

Police believe two men were involved in the shooting and drove off in a red Mazda car.

Mr Stubbs said: “There have been a number of death threats against me. Other people in this area have been warned as well.”
