Man escapes gun attack on house

A 30-year-old man had a lucky escape during a gun attack on his house on the outskirts of south Belfast, police said today.

Officers believe two attackers were involved in the shooting at around 11pm last night at Best Hill View in the Purdysburn area.

Four or five shots were fired into the front living room but no one was there.

The man was in another part of the house at the time.

It is believed the two men fled the scene in a red Mazda.

Detectives in Castlereagh have appealed for anyone with information about the shooting to help their investigation.
