Irishmen face endangering aircraft charges

Two Irishmen have been charged with endangering the safety of an aircraft after an alleged assault on an air hostess, police said today.

Two Irishmen have been charged with endangering the safety of an aircraft after an alleged assault on an air hostess, police said today.

John Harkin aged 32, of Little Diamond, Derry, Northern Ireland, and Seamus McDermott, aged 31, of Kular Court, Derry, were detained when an EasyJet Belfast to Liverpool flight landed at John Lennon Airport last night.

A spokesman for Merseyside Police said Harkin had also been charged with unlawful possession of cannabis.

The pair will remain in custody and appear before Liverpool City Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
