Protestors accuse gardaí of excessive force

May Day demonstrators today challenged gardaí over their “excessive use of force” during the protests which marred EU expansion celebrations.

The Irish Council for Civil Liberties (ICCL) joined the Dublin Grassroots Network in calling on the force to justify their actions on May 1, their use of water canons and batons and the injuries sustained.
