Greens make property election pledges

The Green Party has vowed to give local authorities the power to compulsorily acquire development land if it is part of the next government after the next general election.

The party said it would give local councils the power to compulsorily purchase such land for 125% of its existing value as part of efforts to ease the housing crisis in Ireland.
