Exchequer figures highlight 16.7% increase in tax receipts

Increased income tax receipts and stealth taxes introduced in December’s budget have reportedly helped boost the public finances in the first four months of this year.

Reports this morning said Exchequer figures for the January to April period showed that tax receipts were €500m ahead of target in the four-month period and up 16.7% on the same period last year.
