Former farm leader to contest European elections in North

A former leader of the Ulster Farmers Union has announced his intention to contest this June’s European elections in the North as an independent candidate.

Businessman John Gilliland said he wanted to offer an alternative to the deadlocked politics of the main political parties in the North.
