Father and son-in-law die in Donegal fishing accident

A Derry family is in mourning today following the deaths of a father and his son-in-law in a fishing accident off the coast of Co Donegal yesterday.

Thomas Boyd (aged 69) and 42-year-old John January, from the Waterside area of Derry, went fishing in a 10-foot boat from the Ards Friary pier in south-west Donegal early yesterday morning.

Later in the day, a jet skier noticed a body floating in the water in Sheephaven Bay, sparking an air and sea search.

The remains of the two men were recovered a short time later close to their upturned boat.
