Father in court accused of murdering son

A Dublin man appeared in court today charged with the murder of his 12-year-old son.

John Carroll, 48, of Bayview Rise, Killiney was charged with the murder of Andrew Carroll, who was found dead at the same address.

The accused, a father of four, was remanded in custody to appear in Dun Laoghaire District Court next Friday.

Andrew Carroll was found dead at the family home in south county Dublin last night.

State Pathologist Dr Marie Cassidy carried out a post mortem examination on the body earlier today at Loughlinstown hospital.
