Taoiseach due to raise symbolic EU flag

The Taoiseach has spent the afternoon receiving 27 heads of state and government at Farmleigh House in the Phoenix Park in Dublin.

The highlight of the EU ceremonies will take place shortly after 5.30pm when Mr Ahern raises a symbolic flag at Aras an Uachtarain to formally confirm the enlarged European Union.
