Councillors approve Corrib gas terminal

Mayo County Council has approved plans to construct a terminal for the Corrib gas field project in Bellanaboy, Co Mayo.

The council granted planning permission for the terminal today, subject to 75 conditions.

The planning application was the second submitted by Shell, the company behind the project.

The first application was also approved by Mayo County Council, but was rejected by An Bord Pleanala following an oral hearing.
